Advertising on Bike Racks

You may have noticed that advertisements are now being placed on C-TRAN bike racks. Combining biking and busing remains as convenient as ever and the advertisements provide additional revenue.

While the rack may be slightly heavier than before, it still weighs less than an average bicycle. Please remember these safety tips the next time you bike and bus:

• Be sure the bus has come to a complete stop before moving into the roadway.
• Bicycles can be placed in either the front or back slot, but placing it closest to the bus makes it easier for the next passenger.
• Be sure to notify the Coach Operator before removing your bicycle and make eye contact with the Coach Operator before stepping in front of the bus.

Reduced Holiday Service

A reminder that, in addition to usual Sunday/Holiday service for Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year’s Days, C-TRAN will offer limited commuter and Clark County service the Friday after Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve Day, Marting Luther King, Jr. Day and Presidents’ Day.

Routes operating within Clark County will operate on schedules similar to Saturdays with expanded early morning trips. Commuter service to Portland will end earlier, be less frequent in the late afternoon, but will offer midday service for riders wishing to return to Clark County in the early afternoon.

The following routes will not operate: #93 SE 34th/Lacamas, #114 Camas/Washougal Limited, #135 Ridgefield Express, #157 Lloyd Center/BPA Limited, #173 Battle Ground Limited and #177 Evergreen Express. Again, please plan for limited service schedules on:

• Friday, November 29, 2002
• Monday, January 20, 2003
• Tuesday, December 24, 2002
• Monday, February 17, 2003

You never know when winter weather will strike—so, be prepared by checking your Rider’s Digest to see if your bus route has a detour route during snow and ice conditions.

Pages 62-64 in the Rider’s Digest outline the snow and ice detours for the following routes:

• #2, #3, #6, #7, #32, #39, #93, #105, #157, #177 and #190.
